Terms of Service
1. Agreement
Please read these Terms of Use (“Terms”, “Agreement”) carefully. They govern your use of the MangaTrackr web browser and related services, including the desktop application, mobile application, optional cloud sync, the website at mangatrackr.com, and any features we offer in connection with them (collectively, the “Service”).
By installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service is offered by Svansholm AB (org.nr 559586-7523), Kivra: 559586-7523, 106 31 Stockholm, Sweden. Contact: support@mangatrackr.com.
2. The Service is a browser
MangaTrackr is a specialized browser and reading tool. It lets you visit third-party websites, track what you read, and use optional enhancements. It is not a manga publisher, host, or distributor.
All manga pages, images, and text you view are loaded from third-party websites you choose to visit, under those sites’ own terms and copyright. MangaTrackr does not substitute for those sites, does not crawl or republish their content, and does not make their pages publicly available through us except for optional user-contributed link metadata described in Section 2.
Optional features may include:
- Library and reading-progress tracking (local and optional cloud sync)
- Discover and community tools
- Privacy tools (tracker blocking, cookie controls, HTTPS-only mode)
- Push notifications (mobile, opt-in)
- Translation overlay (opt-in, per page — see Section 5)
- Optional AniList sync
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. See Section 17.
Optional sharing of source URLs (opt-in)
MangaTrackr does not make third-party manga available to the public. Browsing works like a normal browser: pages load from sites you open. Separately, you may opt in (settings toggle, default off) to share link metadata — a series URL and discovered chapter URLs — with the in-app catalog so other users can find chapters faster. This is voluntary, can be disabled anytime, and does not include manga images, scan pages, or overlay translations.
3. Third-party content and websites
For purposes of these Terms, “Content” includes any information, text, images, or other materials made available on or through third-party websites you access via the Service.
We are not responsible for:
- Content, accuracy, legality, or availability on third-party websites
- Copyright or licensing of material on external sites
- Actions or policies of third-party site operators
- Changes, blocks, or takedowns on sites you visit
Your responsibility: You must comply with applicable laws and the terms of each website you visit. We encourage using official and licensed sources when available.
Adult content: Third-party sites may include mature material. You are responsible for ensuring your use is lawful for your age and jurisdiction. Parental controls on your device are recommended.
4. Software license
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the MangaTrackr software for your own lawful use. We and our licensors retain all rights in the Service not expressly granted.
You may not remove proprietary notices, resell the Service, or use our trademarks without permission. This license ends if you breach these Terms.
5. Translation overlay
The optional translation overlay is similar in concept to built-in page translation in browsers such as Google Chrome: you request it for content you are already viewing; the third-party site’s own pages are not edited or republished by us.
- Overlay text and visuals are generated on demand for your private reading session.
- We do not operate a public translation library or manga hosting service.
- Automated translation may be inaccurate. The feature is for personal reading convenience only.
- You must not use it to redistribute, publish, or commercially exploit translated material, or to violate copyright or site terms.
Technical processing (including optional hash-keyed cache) exists only to deliver the overlay efficiently. See our Privacy Policy for details.
6. Paid features
Optional paid features include:
- MangaTrackr Premium — monthly subscription (ad-free and related benefits)
- Translation credits — consumable purchases for translation overlay usage
Prices, billing cycles, and refunds are governed by the Apple App Store or Google Play terms that apply to your purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in your platform account settings. We may change pricing or feature packaging with reasonable notice where required by law or platform rules.
Consumers in the EEA: Where applicable law gives you a 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts, purchases made through Apple or Google are handled under those platforms’ checkout flows and refund tools. Digital content or services that begin immediately may require your explicit consent to start delivery during the withdrawal period, which can affect your right to cancel — the platform will present this where required.
7. Accounts and guest use
You may use the Service as a guest or with an account. You must be at least 13 years old (or the higher minimum age in your country) to register. You are responsible for your credentials and for activity under your account. Provide accurate registration information. You may delete your account and synced data in-app where available.
8. Rules and conduct
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any law, regulation, or third-party rights
- Infringe copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property
- Upload malware, spam, or abusive material through community features
- Harass, threaten, impersonate, or harm others
- Gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users’ accounts
- Impose an unreasonable load on our infrastructure or abuse translation/API limits
- Interfere with the proper working of the Service
- Reverse engineer the Service except where applicable law expressly permits
We may investigate violations and cooperate with law enforcement where required.
9. Community content
If you post comments, reactions, or other user content, you represent that you have the right to post it. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and store that content solely to operate the Service.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law. We are not obligated to monitor all user content.
10. Your responsibility and liability to us
You are responsible for your use of the Service and for content you post in community features. If you intentionally or through gross negligence misuse the Service, infringe third-party rights, or violate these Terms, you may be liable for direct damage you cause us under applicable law.
Consumers: Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights under Swedish or other EEA law. Broad indemnification or liability clauses that would be unfair under the Swedish Act on Contract Terms in Consumer Relations (1994:1512) or section 36 of the Swedish Contracts Act do not apply to you as a consumer.
11. Intellectual property
MangaTrackr’s software, name, logo, and original features are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Manga and artwork on third-party sites belong to their respective rights holders. Nothing in these Terms grants you rights to third-party Content.
12. Third-party services
The Service integrates with third parties (e.g. Supabase, Expo, Apple App Store, Google Play, Google Gemini, AniList). Their terms and privacy policies apply to your use of those services. We are not responsible for third-party failures outside our reasonable control.
13. Disclaimer of warranties
All use of the Service and any third-party Content is at your own risk. The Service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted, secure, or error-free operation. Third-party sites may change without notice.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers; in those cases, disclaimers apply to the fullest extent permitted.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Svansholm AB and its affiliates shall not be liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of goodwill, or loss of data arising from your use of the Service or third-party websites accessed through it.
Our total aggregate liability to you for direct loss arising from our breach of these Terms or negligence in providing the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) SEK 500 (approximately EUR 50).
Consumers: The above does not exclude or limit liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you also benefit from any mandatory protections of the country in which you habitually reside.
15. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms or if necessary to protect the Service, users, or third parties. Provisions that by nature should survive (disclaimers, liability limits, governing law, your responsibility) survive termination.
16. Copyright and illegal content reports
We respect intellectual property and other legal rights. MangaTrackr is a browser: we do not host third-party manga pages for public download. We cannot remove material on external sites you choose to visit.
Community content. If you believe user-posted content in our community features (comments, profile material, or similar) is unlawful or infringes your copyright, send a notice to support@mangatrackr.com with:
- Identification of the work or right concerned
- Identification of the content and enough information for us to locate it (series/chapter, username, approximate date)
- Your name, email, and country
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised
- A statement that the information is accurate and that you are authorised to act (or, for copyright, that you are the rightholder or their agent)
We operate a notice-and-action process consistent with applicable EU law (including the Digital Services Act where it applies to our community features). We may remove or restrict access to reported content, notify the affected user where appropriate, and offer an internal complaint channel if we remove content you posted. Repeat infringers may have accounts suspended.
For infringement on third-party manga sites, contact the site operator directly.
17. Changes to the Service and Terms
We may change features or these Terms. We will update the “Last updated” date. For material changes that adversely affect your rights, we will notify you by email at least 30 days before they take effect where practicable (and may also show an in-app notice). If you do not agree, stop using the Service before the effective date. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance, subject to mandatory consumer rights.
18. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Consumers in the EEA: You may bring proceedings in the courts of Sweden or in the courts of the country where you live, as permitted by mandatory consumer law. You may also use the EU online dispute resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. In Sweden, the National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN) handles many consumer complaints: arn.se.
Business users agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sweden, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
19. Miscellaneous
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement regarding the Service. If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger or sale.
